Modern Learning Architects

This portion of the workshop focuses on our initial efforts to form a pilot group of motivated teachers to be the driving force of change behind modern learning throughout the district. These individuals have become a staple in our transition towards modern learning and empowering students to take ownership of their learning.

Professional Development

This portion of the workshop focuses on our quick transitional training to remote instruction while our district-wide accelerated modern learning model. Due to the global pandemic, what was supposed to be a slow roll-out process turned into bite-sized mini-sessions where our staff was exposed to similar training our modern learning architects experienced.

Modern Learning Plans

This portion of the workshop focuses on the process of shifting from a traditional classroom model to a modern learning experience for our students. Moving towards student-centered learning plans will allow students to take ownership of their education and increase motivation.

Creating a Digital Ecosystem

This portion of this workshop focuses on the importance of having a way to organize and house all of the district digital resources for staff, students, and parents. Accessibility is key during this time, so making sure that you can easily transition between in-person, blended, and remote learning instantly and without loss of learning is imperative.

Standards-Based Mastery Badging System

This portion of this workshop focuses on connecting a student’s evidence of learning with a standards-based learning mastery system to motivate and measure a child’s success. We have researched and developed our own custom mastery badging system using google app scripts that provides families, teachers, and students a LIVE report card of the badges that have been earned by the student.
